Oil Rail End Plugs - Cylinder Heads
High Pressure Oil Rail End Plug & Gasket Oil rail plugs located on either end of the cylinder head require a specialty o-ring if they begin to leak. This is the large round 1 3/4" plug with the 1/2" drive socket hole. During engine rebuild it is good practice to replace these plugs and gaskets since they are almost impossible to reach once the engine is installed in the bay.

Ford and Navistar's instructions recommend the use of LocTite 277 threadlocker on the Oil Rail End plugs.
